Think music festival meets haunted house. We have the answer to a spooky music event for those who love Halloween, and the cure to any post-summer festival depression one might have. Featuring both local talent from Chicago, and national touring acts from around the country, Spookysium is a DIY music festival by Elysium Nights where we celebrate dark and ethereal music and arts. No hot temperatures, and the attire is COSTUMES.

How did Spookysium start, and where is it going?
Spookysium was born as a basement show on October 26, 2024 in Chicago at My Place Ohio (RIP). Held on Halloween weekend, the original lineup featured six acts. Music lovers, who wanted to be the first to experience the concept, filled the room and turned it into a spooky musical sanctuary.
No one had any idea that night that show would turn into a festival the year after, but that’s exactly what happened. The first ever Spookysium Music Festival was held on October 4, 2025 at the ROXY in Lockport, IL. Featuring national acts such as Matt F. Basler, Cassette Stress and Meghan Pulles, as well as local favorites and spooky vendors all in an old theatrical setting, it was a huge success. The event sold 70 tickets, which is not bad for our first year as an independent festival!
This year, we are moving the festival to the city of Chicago. We have a location in mind and are currently working on confirming a date. We are looking to at least double our ticket sales, which, with our recent move to the city and our plans to promote, we believe we can easily do! We are beyond excited for this year and will be doing it bigger, better, and SPOOKIER.
